11/30/2018

图片
When 您’re a student, writing can simply seem like an impossible task. Throughout our school years, we were always taught that the only reason for us to write was to get a grade 和 we always tried to get it over with as soon as possible. If 您’re now a college student, 您 might be thinking that not many things have changed.

Depending on what 您’re studying, there are many reasons why writing could still be difficult for 您. You might feel like it is simply not important or even not that useful in what 您 do. The reality is that writing as a skill, can help 您 even make a stable income at some point in 您r life. Here are some reasons why students tend to think that writing is a hard task to accomplish.

对于许多学生来说,表达自己和思想是 ’t always the easiest of tasks 和 that can bring quite a lot of problems in time where they have to write without putting too much thought into it. Even if 您 are great at arts 和 crafts, writing can still be tough for 您 if 您 are a little introverted or maybe even too much of an extrovert!
The best way to overcome this is to start reading more. Reading anything from books to short stories can really help 您 expand 您r creativity as well as 您r vocabulary. Learning new words 和 understanding how to use them in a sentence can help 您 express 您rself better 和 become more creative. The more 您 read the easier writing will seem to 您.

做研究

Another thing that most - if not all students dread when it comes to writing, is doing the research to support what they wrote. If 您 have to write about a more particular topic, such as a historic or a medical one, 您 will have to cite all the sources 您 used 和 write down things about studies 和 relevant information.
When it comes to writing papers, everyone would find writing difficult as it is so much more than just simply being creative 和 expressing 您r ideas 和 opinions. This kind of writing is more demanding as
it is as 您 will have to have extra knowledge in order to pull such an essay through correctly. The best thing 您 can do about this is ask 您r professors for directions 和 try following them as closely as possible. The more 您 do this during 您r college years, the easier it will become.

The best way to go about this is to keep all distractions away. Find one room to study in where 您r electronics, including 您r phone, are not present. Have 您r necessary notebooks 和 pens there but keep everything else away. You can even try 和 study in 您r local library or college’s library 和 see if that can help 您 concentrate a little bit better.

If 您’re having problems concentrating the best thing 您 can do is keep distractions away. If 您 procrastinate often 和 without a reason, 您 will come to find that even the simplest of writing tasks will seem like difficult 和 never-ending tasks. Make sure 您 keep 您r priorities straight 和 您 manage to stay focused in order to make things easier for 您rself.

一个学生’s life is usually very busy 和 most will feel exhausted at the end of every day. That is absolutely normal 和 expectable if 您 take into consideration how many assignments 和 classes students have to follow.
Writing can seem very difficult if 您 have a million other things to do. You will simply find it impossible to write if 您r head it tired 和 if it’s the third assignment 您 had to do that day. While that is understandable, there is also a solution to it.
You should leave writing for whenever 您 know 您 will have a little bit of extra time 和 nothing else to do. You will need to be rested 和 focused in order to better write 您r thoughts 和 produce a better outcome. If 您 leave 您r writing assignment for the last minute, 您 will only manage to become nervous 和 not write up to 您r expectations.

Even if most students find writing to be quite a difficult task, it can actually be quite enjoyable. If 您 write about a topic 您 enjoy, 您 are bound to find it less difficult 和 more fun to do. While college 和 school assignments don’t always have to be fun, they can be less difficult if 您 pass them up as something 您 actually like doing.

By keeping distractions away 和 being more focused on what 您 write, 您 can finish 您r writing tasks in less time, That can help 您 feel more relaxed 和 allow 您 to see writing from a different perspective. Lastly, the more time 您 spend reading 和 expanding 您r knowledge on how other people write, the easier it will be for 您 to write something 您rself, even if that is a boring college paper.

虽然有 许多类似的假期 享誉全球 美国感恩节 has some specific traditions that can be fun to try while 您 are in the United States. This year, invite all 您r international friends for a new experience 和 use these tips to throw a truly 美国感恩节 celebration in 您r 公寓 .
Thanksgiving is all about the food, so plan out 您r menu carefully 和 make sure 您 have all the cooking equipment 您 need. A few days before Thanksgiving, decide what traditional American 感恩节食物 you’ll treat 您r friends to, 和 make sure 您 have enough room to prepare the meal in 您r 公寓 . Head to the grocery store in advance so 您 have plenty of time to find what 您’re looking for. The last thing 您 want is to be in the middle of cooking 和 realize 您 don’t have what 您 need to complete a recipe. You can even put 您r own culture’在美式菜肴上旋转,将风味与传统融为一体。

Inviting all 您r friends for a Thanksgiving celebration means 您r 公寓  may feel a little cramped. A good way to prepare for 您r guests is by cleaning up 您r apartment and putting away anything that could limit 您r space. The day before Thanksgiving, throw away loose trash, vacuum the floors, clean the kitchen 和 living spaces, 和 make sure all rooms look tidy 和 ready for 您r friends.

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to make 您r 公寓 feel festive 和 create an inviting environment. New throw pillows for 您r 座位区 can create warmth 和 add a pop of seasonal color. Decorate 您r table with nuts 和 pinecones to add texture 和 color to 您r holiday table 和 add a fall-themed wreath to 您r door to welcome guests. Lastly, scatter battery-operated candles throughout 您r space to create a warm ambience, while not having to worry about melting wax.

Thanksgiving is a fun way to gather 您r friends 和 try a classic American tradition for 您rself. Invite one or two close friends to cook with 您 和 share the joy of making 您r dinner together or watching American football after 您r Thanksgiving meal. No matter how traditional 您r Thanksgiving Day is, these tips can help 您 host a successful gathering of 您r friends 和 celebrate the holiday.

11/8/2018

图片
From slang to restaurant etiquette, 您 should be prepared for many surprises about American culture when 您 decide to study in the USA. International students come here with impressions based on movies. TV shows 和 movies may represent real life from time to time, but they cannot fully prepare 您 for the real experience.
Whenever 您 visit a foreign country, 您 immerse in its culture. Foreign cultures always manage to surprise 您 in one way or another. Studying in the USA will be an enhanced experience of the same type, since 您’再花更多的时间在这里。
So what are the most surprising things about American culture 您 should be prepared for? Let’s list them!

When 您 order food at an American restaurant, 您 get a huge portion that 您 couldn’t possibly eat.

Truth be told, it depends where 您 come from. But most foreign students find Americans to be really nice. 尤蒂卡学院的一名外国学生 asked 33 international students to identify the most surprising things about America 和 Canada. They were mostly talking about the food, but

As a foreign student,

玛丽亚·奥利维尔(Maria Olivier),作家  随笔,说明:“The most surprising things about foreign students in the USA is the volume of writing they have to do. Essays, research papers, term papers, book reports, lab reports, case studies, business plans... 您 name it. It’这是他们必须适应的具有挑战性的教育方面。”

哦,也许是’s time to start polishing up 您r academic writing skills before 您 head off to America?

You go out to get some oranges 和 您 go back with complete supplies 和 at least $300 spent at the superstore.

When 您 first enter an American superstore, 您’ll wish 您 had a map to navigate through it. On 您r way out, 您’会发现人们买了他们所不买’t need.

Expect to freeze in closed area during the spring 和 summer. You might consider taking a sweater when 您 go for groceries... in summer!

If 您 plan to work as a waiter while studying, 您’ll love this. If 您’只是一个喜欢偶尔的学生 restaurant dinner, 您 won’t enjoy the fact that 您’希望提供一个大方的小费。

在大多数欧洲国家/地区,人们习惯于将硬币放在桌上“thank 您 for the good service.” In America, 您’re expected to tip 税前费用的15%-20%.

If 您 tip lower or 您 don’t tip at all, the servers will hate 您 和 might spit in 您r coffee the next time they see 您.

When college teams play, the cheerleaders are more fun that the games themselves. If 您 haven’没有看过有啦啦队的电影,我们’d recommend 您 not to do it. That’s how 您’ll get really, really surprised when 您 see them in person.

These are not 您r usual sports team fans or audience entertainers. They take it to a whole other level. They are practically gymnasts, so 您 might start wondering why they don’不能将这些才能用于更有用的目的。

Yes; 您’ll find the USA surprising. But 您 know what? This experience will be great 因为 it will surprise 您. Embrace the differences 和 enjoy 您r stay!
